Georgia Foreign Minister at international conference on economic development

The Austrian city of Salzburg is hosting an international conference "Trilogue Salzburg 2012 - Tackling the Global Gordian Knot: Can economic growth be socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable?”, which is attended by high-ranking representatives of European governments, the EU High Commissioner for International Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, as well as the leaders of influential research centers.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze spoke at the conference, Georgia Online reports.

The main themes of the forum are the issues of sustainable economic development, environmental protection and the challenges in these areas. Particular attention was paid to the intensification of regional cooperation, new ways of overcoming the global financial crisis and prospects for economic cooperation.

During the visit, Grigol Vashadze met with his Austrian counterpart, the Minister for International and European Affairs Michael Spindelegger. The sides discussed the existing relations between the two countries and prospects of further cooperation.
