Near the building of the Khamovniki Court in Moscow, a riot police officer illegally entered the territory of the embassy while trying to apprehend Tatiana Romanova, who had climbed a fence of the Turkish Embassy and chanted slogans in support of members of the band Pussy Riot who were earlier sentenced to two years in prison, Gazeta.Ru reports.
As a result, both the girl and the policeman were temporarily detained by the staff of the embassy.
Later, both parties to the incident were released. Romanova was detained after she left the territory of the embassy.
"Tanya Romanova said that the Turkish Ambassador suggested that she “silently” exit from the territory of the Consulate through the back door. However, when she tried to do this, she was detained by the police," Novaya Gazeta comments on the incident.
