The Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs of the US House of Representatives has confirmed its budget for 2011, apportioning $44 million in financial aid to Armenia, Novosti Armenia reports, citing the Armenian National Committee of America. This is $
million more than President Obama envisaged, but still $4 million less than that alloted last year. The ANCA sources said pro-Armenian congressmen had voted to raise the sum alloted to Nagorno-Karabakh to $10 million, $2 million more than last year. The committe also voted to give Armenia and Azerbaijan almost $4 million each for military financing and training.
