Armenia hosts first Eurasian Youth Forum

14 states will take part in the first Eurasian youth Forum in Armenia’s Tsakhnadzor to discuss problems and prospects of the Eurasian Union. This includes socio-economic problems, history and culture, military and politics, ethnics and confessions, law, information space, RIA Novosti reports.

Mukhtar Amirov, Director of the center for information and analysis of the Committee for Youth Policy of Dagestan, said that formation of the Eurasian Union will be the highlight of discussions. A resolution will be passed at the end on the forum on August 27.

Vage Enfiajan, head of the organization committee of the forum and a member of the Armenian parliament, said that the three main aspects of the forum are young journalists, young businessmen and young politicians.

Presidents Dmitry Medvedev (Russia), Alexander Lukashenko (Belarus) and Nursultan Nazarbayev (Kazakhstan) signed a road map on integration to form the Eurasian Economic Union in Moscow in November 2011.

The idea to form the Eurasian Union was proposed by Nazarbayev in 1994. Putin called the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan the basis for formation of the Eurasian Union in his article in early October 2011.

The article stated that the Eurasian Union was planned as a connector of Europea and the Asian-Pacific Region.
