Turkish president hospitalized

Turkish President Abdullah Gul left Kyrgyzstan and was hospitalized at the hospital of the Hojapet University in Ankara, 1news.az reports.

Gul’s assistant Ahmed Sever said that the president will have to miss the meetings on Friday and Saturday. He left the summit of the Turkic Council (TURKKON) in Bishkek.

TURKKON was organized in 2009. Halil Acinci (Turkey) became its Secretary General.

The first summit was held in Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan) in October 2011. The latest discussions focused on development of Turkic textbooks, an encyclopedia of Turkic terms and development of cooperation between higher education centers.
