Syrian TV denies that General Jamil Hassan has been murdered

Syrian TV denies reports by a number of media outlets about the death of the chief of the Syrian Air Force intelligence, General Jamil Hassan, RIA Novosti reports. "Information about the murder of the head of Air Force Intelligence, General Jamil Hassan, released by the media involved in shedding Syrian blood, is absolutely not true," the private TV channel "Al-Dunia," linked to the Syrian authorities, says.

"Vestnik Kavkaza" reported earlier that on Sunday the TV channel Al Arabiya, controlled by Saudi  Arabia, cited the Syrian opposition that the head of the powerful Air Force Intelligence, Hassan, was shot by one of his aides, who was secretly collaborating with the opposition Free Syrian Army.

The information war is part of the Syrian crisis, which has lasted for almost a year and a half. During this time, according to the authorities of the country, nearly 8,000 people have been killed, although according to  UN officials this number is 17,000. Western countries and a number of Arab states are trying to enforce the departure of President Bashar Assad, believing that this will stop the violence. Russia and China fear that foreign interference in Syria and the loss of the statehood will lead to widening of the conflict. The Syrian authorities, in turn, claim that they face resistance from well-armed militants, who are supported from the outside.
