Russian border guards are completing equipping of the Abkhaz-Georgian border, Abkhaz President Alexander Ankvab said, Vzglyad reports.
Russia recognized independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia 4 years ago and started protecting the two republics. Russian Chief of Border Service Vladimir Pronichev announced formation of a multi-level system of border protection in the North Caucasus last week. Border posts were equipped with aircraft, night vision and thermal vision systems.
