The Belarusian Embassy in Bishkek has been attacked by relatives of people killed during the coup of 2010. They demanded extradition of ex-President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and his brother Zhanybek from Minsk, RIA Novosti reports.
Dozens of people were throwing rocks into the embassy and broke windows. Protesters demanded the embassy to be closed down and the ambassador to show up.
Bishkek called its ambassador off after publications of photos of Zhanybek, ex-President Kurmanbek Bakiyev’s brother, depicted at a café in Minsk. The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry sent a note to the Belarusian ambassador in Bishkek on Tuesday. The ministry reminded that the man was on the international wanted list, including the Interpol wanted list, for grave crimes committed in Kyrgyzstan.
