TURKSOY, ISESCO and the State Fund for Support of Mass Media Development of the Azerbaijani president have opened an international conference on the role of mass media in intercultural dialogue in Baku today. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Turkey are attending it, Trend reports.
Azerbaijani representative to TURKSOY Elchin Gafarly said that the organization was actively participating in development of the culture for 20 years.
Vasif Eyvazzade, head of the section of international links of the Azerbaijani Ministry for Culture and Tourism, said that initiatives of Mehriban Aliyev, first lady of Azerbaijan, were of interest to the world.
Vugar Safarli, Executive Director of the State Fund for Support of Mass Media Development of the Azerbaijani president, noted responsibility of mass media and professionalism of journalists.
MP Ganira Pashayeva told about the importance of cultural dialogue and urged mass media to pay special attention to enlightenment.
The conference will last 3 days. Its attendants will study the work of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting, Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States, Ministry for Culture and Tourism and the Press Council.
