Ingush leader warns of conflict in Chechen border row

Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov has said a revision of the Ingush-Chechen border may provoke a conflict.

Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov has announced plans to take the issue up to federal level. He accused Ingushetia of trying to take over Chechen lands. The Chechen parliament said it would form a bilateral commission to study the border.

Chechnya and Ingushetia used to be a single region until 1992. Writing on his LiveJournal blog, Yevkurov said the current border between the two republics is "established" and that attempts to revise it may provoke a conflict.
