Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has met with his counterpart from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Douglas Slater, on the sidelines of the 16th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Tehran.
During the meeting on Tuesday, Salehi referred to Iran's longstanding support for the weaker nations of the world, adding that moving towards peace and stability in the region and the world as well as resisting the hegemonic powers are major policies of the Islamic Republic.
Slater, for his part, reiterated the eastern Caribbean country’s support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed hope that the Iranian nation will proudly go through the unjust pressures imposed on it by Western powers.
The Iranian foreign minister has also met with foreign ministers of India, North Korea, Namibia, Mali, Myanmar and the Comoros on the sidelines of the 16th NAM summit in Tehran.
