Belarus and Azerbaijan sign cooperation agreements

Representatives of Belarus and Azerbaijan have signed a number of intergovernmental and interagency agreements aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation on 28 August, BelTA has learnt.

During the official visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Belarus, the two countries have signed a package of international agreements on cooperation, including an intergovernmental agreement to create favorable legal, economic and organizational conditions to expand leasing activities. Representatives of Belarus and Azerbaijan concluded three intergovernmental cooperation agreements in the law-enforcement field. These are an intergovernmental cooperation agreement on combating crimes involving cultural valuables, an agreement on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism and a cooperation agreement on combating illegal production and trade in firearms, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices.

Cooperation agreements have been signed between the ministries of the two countries. The justice ministries concluded a cooperation agreement on forensic examination, the healthcare ministries signed cooperation agreements in registration and quality control of medicines. The administrations of Brest and Nakhchivan City signed a cooperation agreement in trade, economy, culture and the humanitarian field.
