Azerbaijan is very important country for US - Ambassador

Azerbaijan is a very important country for the United States, the newly-appointed U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar, told reporters on Tuesday at the airport upon arrival in Baku, Trend informs.

"I'm looking forward to working with the government of Azerbaijan, getting to know the people of Azerbaijan and the country, dealing with important issues," he said

The U.S. Senate confirmed Morningstar's nomination to the post of ambassador to Azerbaijan on July 30.

The Senate Committee on international relations approved the decision of President Barack Obama to nominate Richard L. Morningstar to be the next ambassador to Baku in April.
