Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov said at a meeting with Speaker of Parliament Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov that the separation of Ingushetia and Chechnya will benefit both republics, RIA Novosti reports.
Kadyrov announced formation of a bilateral republican commission for setting borders of the two regions. Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said in his LiveJournal that border reconsideration may provoke a conflict.
Chechnya and Ingushetia used to be a single region until they split in December 1992. Related adjustments were made in the Constitution of the RSFSR.
