Russian Speaker of Parliament Sergey Naryshkin said on Wednesday that the police and civilians must prevent any attacks on religion, RIA Novosti reports.
The statement was made in relation to the murder of Sheikh Sayid Afandi (Atsayev) in Dagestan.
Irina Yarovaya, head of the parliamentary committee for security and corruption control, expressed her condolences and emphasized the importance of keeping peace and consent. She stressed that the Russian people, regardless of nationality or religion, mourn the loss together with Dagestan.
