Azerbaijani opposition to face confrontation

The Azerbaijani opposition Popular Front Party has condemned "Musavat" party head Isa Gambar's statement. Isa Gambar intends to nominate for the presidential elections without the consent of the so-called opposition "Public Chamber" in 2013.

Up to now, chairman of Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli has repeatedly said that the main aim is to achieve a unity of the democratic opposition forces, deputy chairman of the party, member of the Public Chamber Fuad Gahramanli told Trend today.

"But the early discussion of the presidential candidate from the opposition may damage our common plans," he said. 

"Therefore, we stood for the issue of a presidential candidate not to be discussed not to detract from our main goal. The decision was taken by the Public Chamber."

Gahramanli said that the decision was made with the participation of the Coordination Council of the Public Chamber. Everyone voted for this decision.

"Therefore, Gambar's statement on his nomination creates a tension and raises questions in society, including the media," Gahramanli said.
