Georgian law enforcers continue pursuing militants at the Dagestani border of Russia, Vzglyad reports.
Six militants were being pursued last night. The gorge at the Lopota River remains blocked.
11 militants and 3 officers were killed in a clash on Tuesday. Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said most militants had been killed. They were part of the Tsuntinskaya Group and came from Dagestan to Georgia. Russian security services denied the information.
The Interior Ministry said that hostages had been released. The father of a hostage Imed Gogolashvili said that his son and friends could have been part of a staged kidnap.
Russia has registered no violations of the border in the last days.
