The Uzbek Senate has approved foreign policy targets. Uzbekistan can no longer permit foreign bases to be built in the country and cannot join military blocs. The concept was developed by Uzbek President Islam Karimov, RIA Novosti reports.
Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov said that the state may abandon any organizations transforming into military blocs. Uzbekistan will not send soldiers to fight abroad.
The Senate with 100 members has had its 9th plenary session on Thursday. The Uzbek parliament consists of two chambers with the Senate being its upper chamber.
