Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have met at the 16th session of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran, Trend reports.
They discussed bilateral cooperation in trade, fuel and energy, construction, agriculture, transportation, tourism and other areas.
The two states are realizing the North-South Railway project with Kazakhstan.
Turkmenistan and Iran built the Dostluk water reservoir, Tejen-Serahs-Mashhad Railway, gas pipelines and power lines.
The Korpeje-Gurtguyi Pipeline is the main communication for gas shipments between the two states, launched in December 1995. It has a capacity of 8 billion cubic meters annually and may increase to 14 billion. Capacity was increased at neighbor states in late December 2009. The Dovletava-Serahs Pipeline has a capacity of 6 billion cubic meters annually. A branch from Serahs to Sangbast through Khangeran was launched in November.
