Georgia starts taking measures against Saakashvili becoming premier

The party of Irakliy Alasaniya - 'Free Democrats' - spoke out against
Mikhail Saakashvili becoming premier after his presidency ends.


Members of the Tea party, Tsulukiani and Zurab Abashidze, presented
their special project on the issue to the constitutional commission,
Georgian media report.


Tsulukiani said that it needs amendments to the Constitution to forbid
the president becoming premier immediately after his term of office
ends. If the amendments are passed presidents will not be able to
amend the Constitution for their benefit.


Tsulukiani emphasized that no country in the world has a
constitutional commission that uses its powers so maliciously.


Abashidze said that they will raise the issue to the US Secretary of
State Hillary Clinton during her visit in Georgia.
