Head of Regional Development Ministry of Georgia resigns

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Ramaz Nikolaishvili has resigned voluntarily, Trend reports.

The first deputy head of the department, Jambul Bakuradze, has become the acting head of the ministry.

The resignation of Nikolaishvili is associated with the upcoming parliamentary in Georgia. The ruling National Movement party will nominate Nikolaishvili as a majority candidate from Ozurgeti.

Parliamentary elections in Georgia are scheduled for October 1.
