Iran's Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani says Iran and Russia share common views and mutual interests, stressing that the expansion of bilateral ties between the two states will help promote regional and international peace and stability, Press TV reports.
“The two countries share many interests and common views in the international fields which can be the basis for useful and constructive cooperation between Tehran and Moscow,” Larijani said in a meeting with Konstantin Shuvalov, the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s representative at the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), in Tehran on Saturday.
He stressed the importance of bolstering parliamentary cooperation which plays a leading role in the expansion of mutual relations in various political, economic and cultural areas.
The top Iranian parliamentarian emphasized that the Majlis would make use of its utmost potential to boost Iran’s amicable ties with Russia.
