The social democrats, Ar-Namys and Ata-Meken, have formed a new parliamentary coalition in Kyrgyzstan, Speaker of Parliament Asilbek Zheenbekov said today, Interfax reports.
The Republic Fraction used to be part of the coalition that dissolved in late August when Ar-Namys and Ata-Meken spoke out against Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov. The new coalition was formed by the Social Democratic Party.
Republic and Ata-Zhurt became opposition fractions.
Committees of the new parliament will start work on September 3-4 and will have a session on September 5. The new Cabinet will be headed by Zhantoro Satybaldiyev, currently head of the president’s office. The three fractions of the coalition approved it.
