Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus plan to discuss the formation of a Eurasian Parliament in Moscow on September 13, Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko said. She proposed the formation of a parliament in Astana as the capital of the booster of Eurasian integration, Trend reports.
Matviyenko noted that Russia’s membership in the WTO will not affect cooperation between Moscow and Astana within the framework of the Customs Union (CU) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). Russia joined the WTO in August.
On the contrary, it makes the integration unities more attractive for other WTO members, because they form a common market with a population of 200 million people.
The Eurasian Economic Union is expected to be formed by Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan from the Single Economic Space before 2015. The presidents of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed the Declaration of Eurasian Economic Integration, the Treaty of Eurasian Economic Commission and the Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Commission in Moscow in November 2011 .
The declaration formed the Single Economic Space on January 1, 2012, based on the principles of the WTO.
