Speaker of Russia's Federation Council against 'clan' bill

Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko believes that a bill forbidding family groupings in parliament may be considered, but it is not a topical issue at the moment, RIA Novosti reports.

Andrey Isayev, chairman of the parliamentary committee for social policy, proposed a bill preventing relatives from working at the parliament. A similar bill may be composed for the government too in the future.

The following people of the parliament are relatives: father Gennady and his son Dmitry Gudkov (A Fair Russia), Vladimir Zhirinovski and his son Vice Speaker Igor Lebedev (LDPR), Vakha Agayev (CPR) and his son Bekhan Agayev (United Russia), married couple Ivan Grachev and Oksana Dmitriyeva (A Fair Russia), brothers Jamaladin Gasanov (A Fair Russia) and Magomedkadi Gasanov (United Russia). MP Ilia Ponomarev (A Fair Russia) is the son of senator Larisa Ponomareva, head of the United Russia fraction Vice Speaker Andrey Vorobyov is the son of senator Yuri Vorobyov.
