Georgia will indeed join the North Atlantic Alliance, the body's Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen told reporters in Tbilisi today at a joint press conference with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, News-Georgia reports.
"Georgia will become a Nato member-state and no other country will prevent it from doing so," Rasmussen said.
Rasmussen started a regional tour of the Caucasus in Yerevan, where he was expected to discuss regional issues with President Serzh Sargsyan, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.
Rasmussen then headed to Azerbaijan and Georgia.
