Uzbek president sees rising tensions in Central Asia

 

Uzbek President Islam Karimov said at a meeting with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana on Friday that NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan causes rising tensions in Central Asia, Trend reports.

Joint efforts are needed to stop the threat, the Uzbek leader believes.

NATO plans to withdraw from Afghanistan in 2014.
