The 30th meeting of the Permanent Council of Culture Ministers of TURKSOY
member-states is being held in Bashkortostan's capital Ufa, "Novosti-Azerbaijan"
reports, with reference to the press service of the Ministry of
Culture and Tourism.
Discussions at the meeting concern the plan of activities of TURKSOY
in 2012, as well as the events to mark the 20th anniversary of the
organization. It is planned that the heads of delegations will
personally meet the head of Bashkortostan, Rustem Khamitov.
The International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY unites Turkic
countries. It has 14 members, including sovereign states and federal
entities or autonomous regions of third countries. The main purpose of
cooperation between the Turkic peoples is to preserve, develop and
transmit to future generations the common material and cultural
monuments of the Turkic peoples.
The headquarters is located in Ankara and the current Director General of
the organization is Dusen Kaseinov , former Minister of Culture of
Kazakhstan.
