Kazakhstan and Vietnam have agreed to develop bilateral cooperation, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a meeting with Vietnamese President Truong Tan San in Astana, News Kazakhstan reports.
Nazarbayev said that the trade turnover between the two states was only $100 million. He discussed cooperation in agriculture, petroleum industry and humanitarian ties. The Kazakh leader reminded about Vietnam’s support of the Expo Exhibition in Astana in 2017.
President Truong Tan San noted interest in improving relations and approves strengthening of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). He believes that Vietnam and the Customs Union need a free trade deal for cooperation in petroleum, education, science and technologies.
The sides signed a deal on direct air connection.
