Leader of the Heritage Party of Armenia, Raffi Ovanissyan, has resigned, News Armenia reports.
His resignation note was read out by Speaker of Parliament of the 5th calling Ovik Abramyan. He added that the MP had 15 days to cancel the resignation note.
The party approved his resignation on September 9. He has not resigned from the Central Electoral Commission, preparing for the presidential polls of 2013.
Tevan Pogosyan, head of the International Center for Human Development, is the next person on the proportional list of Heritage. The Heritage Fraction consists of Free Democrats and the Heritage Party, represented by 5 MPs.
