White House spokesman Jay Carney reminded on Monday that the US president was putting maximum pressure on Iran together with Israel to stop the nuclear ambitions of Tehran, RIA Novosti reports.
Spokeswoman of the US State Department Victoria Nuland said on Monday that the US was in regular contact with Israel. She added that the State Department plans consultations with Israel at the UN General Assembly in New York.
The US, Israel and a set of other Western states accuse Iran of developing nuclear arms on the background of peaceful atom. Tehran denies all accusations and insists that the nuclear program is to fulfill demands for electricity. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the US and Israel were setting a point of no return for Iran, crossing which will result in military action.
