The lower chamber of parliament has started its autumn session today. Speaker of the lower chamber Sergey Naryshkin noted that the session would be intense, deputies will consider numerous bills on socio-economics, modernization of the political system, improvement of the parliamentary status and bills set for talks in the summer.
This includes the bill banning foreign accounts and real estate of Russian MPs abroad and its other version requiring MPs to give details of accounts and real estate deals abroad, RIA Novosti reports.
Member of the United Russia Party Andrey Isayev proposed a ban on clanship in the parliament.
Naryshkin proposed optimization and improvement of parliamentary efficiency.
The speaker reminded that the parliament of the fourth calling passed fewer bills than declined them. The parliament of the fifth calling passed 1600 bills and declined 1400. He added that 154 laws bills were passed and 158 declined in the spring session.
Naryshkin reminded that the parliament was only 20 years old and overloaded with legislative materials, often controversial and declarative. It needs systematization, clarity.
