Former Vice-President of Iraq Tariq al-Hashimi can stay in Turkey as long as he likes, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Interfax reports.
Al-Hashimi was sentenced to death for over 300 crimes in Iraq on Sunday. He was an authoritative Sunni politician. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki accused him of terrorism, bombings and kidnappings and murdering functionaries, officers, judges and doctors in December 2011.
