Russian gas-selling giant Gazprom criticizes the probe launched by the European Commission as pressure aiming to decrease gas prices, RIA Novosti reports.
"The European Commission's action may be considered a act of pressuring the company in order to decrease the prices for gas," the company's spokesman Sergey Kupriyanov told reporters on Tuesday.
The European Commission has recently ordered an investigation into Gazprom's activities accusing the company of establishing a monopoly on the European market.
