Georgia opens polling stations abroad, skipping Russia

 

The Georgian Central Electoral Commission opened polling stations in Ottawa (Canada), Dublin (Ireland), Barcelona (Spain), Budapest (Hungary) and Lisbon (Portugal) on September 11, Georgia Online reports.

There are 42,613 Georgian voters abroad. A total of 42 polling stations were opened abroad on September 1, 2012. Not a single one has opened in Russia where tens of thousands of Georgians have the right to vote.

Georgia will hold parliamentary polls on October 1.
