Turkish Minister for Science Nihat Ergun said that the country is ready to launch production of own ballistic missiles called SOM, MIGnews.com reports.
The missile has a range of 300 km. It is the first step of Turkey towards building missiles with a range of 2500 km. Turkey says that it needs such high range missiles to enforce stability and overcome repercussions of the Arab Spring.
