Turkish PM wants more pressure on Syria

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants more political pressure on the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, he said at the Yalta European Strategy Forum on Friday, RIA Novosti reports.

Erdogan believes that the UN has a lot of responsibility for prevention of the conflict in Syria. He noted that Russia and China had blocked resolutions of the UNSC on Syria.

The Syrian conflict has been ongoing since March 2011. According to Syrian authorities, about 8,000 people died. The UN says 17,000 people died.
