294 MPs voted for dismissing social revolutionary Gennady Gudkov from the parliament, 151 against and 3 abstained today, RIA Novosti reports.
Voting at the lower chamber is usually held at 5 pm.
Gennady Gudkov was accused of business activities. Head of the investigative section of the Investigative Committee Alexander Shukin confirmed business operations.
Investigation of Gudkov investments was announced in June, after a request of Ivaylo Zartov (Bulgaria), who claimed that the MP evaded taxes in Russia. Gudkov said that Zartov had been sentenced in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria and was trying to have vengeance on the Russian lawmaker.
