The Committee for Constitutional Legislature, Legal and Justice Affairs of the Federation Council of Russia, has scrapped the bill banning bank accounts and property of state functionaries abroad, RIA Novosti reports.
The bill set a fine of up to 10 million rubles or 5 years of prison for violating the law.
Andrey Klishas chairing the committee says that the bill was unjusitifed and violated rights of citizens. He proposed improvement of the system of income declaration of functionaries and their families instead.
