The US has sent the 33,000 reinforcements deployed by President Barack Obama 3 years ago to Afghanistan back home, Interfax reports.
The US started withdrawing troops from Afghanistan in July 2012.
The reinforcements pushed out the Taliban from many southern and south-western regions of the country. 68,000 US and about 40,000 soldiers of other countries serve in Afghanistan. Their withdrawal is being carried out in portions.
