Youth policy is still a priority in Russia, Russian Minister for Education and Science Dmitry Livanov said at the Conference of Minister for Youth Affairs of the Council of Europe, RIA Novosti reports.
The minister wants more involvement of young people in social practices, development of personality and studies and formation of values.
He noted that Russia has about 36 million people (about quarter of the population) aged 14-30.
Livanov pointed out three groups of problems for young people: globalization, cultural diversity and a lack of social and political institutions.
The Council of Europe is holding the conference for the 10th time, attended by 45 members of the European Cultural Convention, US and other foreign officials, UNICEF, WB and OECD. About 300 people are attending the meeting.
