Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has appointed Serik Ahmetov as the Prime Minister, approved by all members of the lower chamber of parliament, News Kazakhstan reports.
Ahmetov worked as the Mayor of Astana, Chief of State Inspection for Directorate of Organization and Control and Staff Policy of the Presidential Administration, head of the Atameken Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers, Minister for Transportation and Communications, Vice Premier. He became the governor of the Karaganda Region in November 2009.
He was the First Vice Premier in January-September 2012.
