“There is a possibility that the National Assembly of Armenia will discuss the request of the general prosecutor of Armenia, Agvan Ovsepian, on deprivation of the former Foreign Minister, Vardan Oskanian, of the deputy immunity. Moreover, the request accuses Oskanian of involvement into money laundering; the National Security Service initiated a criminal case,” Grapark reports.
“It doesn’t mean Oskanian will be arrested. At this stage they want to deprive him of the deputy immunity only; thus, he will stay a PM and attend court as a defendant. The authorities try to settle this question step by step. The parliament will discuss the request on next Monday. The prosecutor and Oskanian will have 20 minutes for speech, then voting will take place,” NEWS.am reports.
