Iran's Judiciary has arrested the son of Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani over his role in the unrest that followed the country’s 2009 presidential vote, Press TV reports.
Mehdi Hashemi was arrested hours after he arrived at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport from Dubai Sunday night.
On Saturday, Faezeh Hashemi, the daughter of the Expediency Council’s Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, was also arrested to serve her six-month jail sentence.
