The lower chamber of Russia's parliament will consider a bill on punishments of people for offending religious feelings of people with 5 years of prison and fines increased 100-fold, as stated on Wednesday by Yaroslav Nilo (LDPR), head of the parliamentary committee for social associations and religious organizations, RIA Novosti reports.
Public offenses against religious ceremonies and feelings will be punished with fines totaling up to 300,000 rubles, obligatory work of up to 20 hours or jailing for 3 years.
Desecrating and damaging religious places will be punished with 100,000-500,000 rubles, obligatory work for up to 400 hours or up to 5 years of prison.
