United Russia will not use portraits of leaders during campaigning

United Russia will not use portraits of their leader Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and President Vladimir Putin during the electoral campaign in autumn, Vedomosti reports.

Secretary of the United Russia General Council Sergey Neverov said that they do not want to overuse agitation materials because 26 new parties will take part in the elections.

Candidates were recommended to agitate basing on what has been done, instead of giving promises.

United Russia got about 49% of votes at the parliamentary polls of December 2011. Thousands of people protested against the election results. Austrian specialists calculated that United Russia would have got less than 40% of vote if the elections were fair.
