Kyrgyz ex-president to undergo trial

 

The case of Kyrgyz Ex-President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and his brother Zhanybek of the State Security Service will be considered by judge Marlen Tentimiyev today, RIA Novosti reports.

They are accused of murdering Medet Sadyrkulov, director of the institute for strategic studies Sergey Slepchenko and driver Kubat Sulaimanov in 2009. They were found burned in a car on Bishkek outskirts. Omurbek Osmonov was sentenced to 12 years of prison for the car accident and killed later.

Bakiyev lost power in Kyrgyzstan in April 2010. About 90 people died and about a thousand were injured in the revolution.

The case of Sadyrkilov started in March 2012 will be reopened.

Zhanysh Bakiyev, a suspect of the Interpol wanted list, and two main suspects were seen in Minsk in August 2012.
