Russia starts autumn drafts

 

The Russian military will have autumn draft on October 1 – December 31 for over 140,000 conscripts, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Vasily Smirnov said, Interfax reports.

Conscripts will receive credit cards to receive monthly payments of 2,000 rubles.

Over 46,000 military specialists plan to start service. 45,000 were trained at centers of the Voluntary Association for Assistance to Army, Aviation and Fleet and 1,200 have similar specializations. 33% of conscripts will be military specialists.

Draft offices sent 155570 conscripts, over 35,600 of them have higher education (23%).

1769 Cossacks started military service in spring 2012, exceeding the figure of autumn 2011 by 30%.

280 people started spring civil service in spring. A total of 907 people are having alternate civil service at the moment.
