Turkey has decided to return its ambassador to Sweden, less than a week after Zergun Koruturk was recalled by Ankara over the Swedish parliament’s approval of a resolution calling the 1915 killings of Armenians by Turks “genocide,” 1news.az said.
The news agency cited the Turkish paper Zaman, which said that Turkey had taken the decision in light of the Swedish premier’s move to condemn the resolution. Turkey says the U.S. should follow suit in condemning the adoption of a similar resolution by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.
