The economic growth rate in Armenia has already reached 7 percent in 2012, PM Tigran Sargsyan announced on Wednesday while addressing the National Assembly during discussions of the 2011 State Budget, News.am reports.
In Sargsyan’s words, the past year’s top issue was to secure the continuity of economic growth. Following the financial and economic crisis in 2009, the country’s government conducted an anti-crisis policy, to ensure economic diversification, and a transition was made toward an industrial policy.
As a result, the economic growth rate was 2 percent in 2010 and 4.6 percent in 2011.
